Gujarat's business culture is shaped by its merchants, entrepreneurs, brokers, money-changers, artisans and even non-business people such as religious and moral preachers. The book points out that Gujarat's business ethos in India and the overseas countries was influenced by certain common norms such as peace, pragmatic ethics, cooperation and the spirit of tolerance. Rich in detail and documentation the book will appeal to historians and non-historians, to students, teachers and general readers. It is based on the author's published articles.
